Known by professionals for being a well stocked supply house for all plumbing and electrical needs. It should be know by more individuals that they carry more than the big box stores and not only sell to the pros but also can give professional advice to the individuals or diy person. They offer just as many services as the box stores also. Don't overlook them and don't be surprised that working with them will change your perspective on locally owned business that can compete in today's market.

The two rating isn't because they didn't have what I needed. It is because the employees couldn't decide who "had" to help me out. (There was nobody else in there). They couldn't be friendly, or helpful, or barely even respond. The guy eventually just walked away from me without ever helping. Not a good business model.

I'm sure they do a good job with what they offer, but when a business is called "plumbing and heating", one might assume that they do PLUMBING. I called to get a quote for a small plumbing job and the person who answered the call was so rude, saying they "just supply materials, they don't do labor". And there's polite way to say that, she just chose to be rude and very short with me.
When I asked if there was any plumber they recommend she interrupted me and said "no. We don't recommend". I was kind of shocked, clearly enough to write this review. We just moved here from out of state and all other contractors we've called have been so nice. They might consider changing their name so people don't waste their time calling.

Let me start out by saying I have no plumbing background or expertise. I'm just a woman, working on a house renovation, trying to find a quality and attractive bath and shower combo for her clawfoot tub. This was a surprisingly difficult task in this land of old houses filled with tricky old plumbing situations. The online options via Home Depot and the like were either horrifically expensive, terribly reviewed, or both.
The staff at I.D. Booth, particularly Eric and Carol, were marvelous. They talked me through my options, remained patient while I double- and triple-checked the specifications, and kept in touch with me while I waited for the faucet to come in. I ended up with a BEAUTIFUL piece manufactured by the Spring House company in Pennsylvania. It look a while to come in (I'd say about a month-and-a-half) but it was worth the wait, given the paucity of other good options.
I was very happy with my experience with I.D. Booth in Ithaca, but I wanted to post this review particularly for those other people out there with big house projects, limited budgets, and not a lot of background: it can be done, and the staff at I.D. Booth can help you do it.
