Ignorant! I mean we should have known that a company that is established in Norristown would be full of ignorant employees. We understand the gravity on the Covid 19 situation but we called and they said They were open but when we got there we were greeted with an employee that was mean and told us to go away in not so nice words. U just lost very good contractors

I needed a fitting for an emergency plumbing repair in my home and I couldn't find what I needed at the local Home Depot, so I called Duff. The guy on the phone was very friendly and told me that he was closed, but would still be around if I wanted to run over - just knock on the door. I was really impressed with this level of customer service and was thrilled they could help me at such short notice.
When I got there, he produced the fitting (a no-hub 1 1/4 rubber union that attaches with two hose clamps) and told me that it was $39.85. I was absolutely blown away by this markup. I did some research when I got home and found that this is a $6 part everywhere else. I have no idea why it was seven times more expensive at Duff, but he didn't ring the sale or issue a receipt (said the register was closed for the day), so I can't help but feel like I was taken advantage of.
It's hard to say what the final truth is here. On one hand, the guy was willing to wait around and genuinely seemed to want to help me, for which I am very grateful. On the other hand, I really feel like I was ripped of pretty hard. I guess in the final analysis, I should have declined to pay it and let my plumbing emergency sit for another few days, so the fault is mostly mine. Either way, I won't be returning to Duff and I would suggest the average home-owner not use them as a primary source for his or her plumbing needs.
