Also called European Windows, our Tilt/Turns are the most appropriate window for Cold-temperature climates. We make ours with fully insulated 4-Sided fiberglass framing, locking points wrapped along all four sides, and Cardinal Triple-Pane glass. Our Crank windows can be made in Casement (hinged on the side) or Awning (hinged on the top) styles. Both are made with fully insulated 3-Sided fiberglass framing, Multi-point locking hardware, and Cardinal Triple-Pane glass. We make our doors with fully insulated 4-Sided fiberglass framing and Cardinal Triple-Pane glass.

An inward opening window that opens in two directions. Turning the handle 90 degrees will allow you to turn the window inward on hinges mounted on the left or right. Turning the handle 180 degrees will allow you to tilt the window inwards on hinges mounted horizontally at the bottom. This is the tightest sealing, warmest window made due to the multitude of locking points that can be located along all four sides (both sides, top, and bottom). It is also commonly called a "European" or "Dual-Action" window.

These are Fixed windows that are approporiate for joining together or to our Casement and Awning Windows. A High-Profile framing has a cross-section that will result in even sightlines when paired with our Casement and Awning windows.
Fiberglass frames make the strongest, toughest, and most durable windows and doors available. Thermal Expansion/Contraction is bad for windows and is what couases them to warp in the heat and cold. PVC (Vinyl) framing warps over 8 times more than our pultruded fiberglass framing. Moreover, our fiberglass framing moves at a rate that is almost identical to the sealed glass unit it contains.

Helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and great to work with.especially over the distance between Fairbanks and Anchorage. And, in addition, the triple pane Tilt/Turn windows are wonderful. I've been using them for the past couple of months, and find them solid, secure, very quieting of outside noise, and very helpful in making my home energy efficient and comfortable. Now, I'm just looking forward to the arrival of my blinds. Definitely highly recommend Great Land to all.

Great Land Window is a good business. Chip has been extremely helpful in guiding my wife and I through our purchase of three French Doors for our home. I did the installation myself and it went flawlessly. They were great to deal with and met all expectations & time lines.

Great Land Window was a pleasure to work with. We needed a basement egress window and Chip helped to ensure the window would fit our limited space and meet code requirement. He was consistently responsive and helpful as we decided which window style would work best, and went above and beyond to help us get the window down to Anchorage. I would wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone looking for custom windows.

Extremely impressed with the service and products. I was in need of a new window for our bedroom. I knew from living in Fairbanks for over 20 years that tripple pane is the only way to go. The tilt and turn window I bought is just what I was looking for, the install was quite simple. I was able to install the window from the inside and seal it up tight.

No climbing on a ladder with a very expensive (WORTH EVERY PENNY) investment. These are not mass produced, and are built to close tolerances. Contact them for lead times. Stop in and ask to see the manufacturing process. They're happy to show you. I'll be replacing all of the windows in my home with their products. UPDATE: Since my first purchase with Great Land Window, I have since replaced every window in our house with their products.

I have also replaced our drafty front door with a tilt and turn door nearly identical to the windows. I will soon be ordering a new patio door as well. We have seen a significant reduction in our heating bill over our old wooden crank out windows.

I just installed a glass door with an attached side window that were custom built by Great Land. I'm very pleased with the results. They replaced an old Pella window, and I cut out the wall of our log house to change the window into a door. It's noticeably tighter and better quality. Their windows require a substantial lead time for fabrication, and they cost a lot of money.

I have planned this project for several years, and it came out just as I hoped. The door feels solid and smooth, and the air seal is very good because the (nine) latches are all cams that compress the door seal. Both the door and the window are triple glazed, tempered glass. The door has a good quality security latch with keys. I got the low-e glass because the door and window are on the north side of the house, but the glass does not appear to be tinted, so visibility is excellent.

Great Land windows are locally made. Owners are the Vaughns, a local father/son team. They have a nice building on Van Horn where you can watch the process. They are quality tight windows. The tilt turns open two ways. You can wash the outside from inside. It was a pleasure dealing with Chip. He was very helpful with my order. I am pleased with my experience. Downsides: they do not deliver, nor do they take credit cards.

The screens require additional brackets which need to be glued to the outside. This wasn't really a problem but requires warmish weather. Upside: They sell Fensterman blinds which fit the windows perfectly. We love our new windows from Great Land.

Great Land Windows offers the best windows money can buy. I have already replaced my Alpine windows twice and these new windows are guaranteed. Although they are expensive, if I had bought them initially I wouldn't be replacing them for the third time! I also replaced my sliding doors (not very practical in Alaska since they often froze shut) with French doors.

They are beautiful and well constructed. The owners of the store were very patient with me - I met with them several times before I decided on the exact configuration I wanted. I highly recommend this family-owned Fairbanks business. I plan on replacing three more windows next year.

I ordered 48 windows of varying shapes and sizes from Chip and his team at Great Land Window for a residential project in 2017. I appreciated GLW personnel for taking the time to provide detailed information that helped me chose the best product for my Interior Alaska project. The windows were constructed on time and at the agreed upon price, and now after two years, all are performing as advertised. Great people. Great product.

Hello, When we purchased our home the engineering building inspector recommended Great Land Windows. I visited the shop and spent some time with staff explaining their product and how fiberglass was the better choice than other products such as metal or vinyl. Then during this springs Fairbanks Trade Show we had additional opportunity for my wife and I to ask questions about their product and subtle details on what products we should consider. Having heard of the expense of triple pane fiberglass windows we received estimates from three local companies.

Great Land was below the other estimates and offered options for a local installer with references. I would say our experience on willingness to work with us on a myriad of questions, ability to support a truly local business, quality of the product, and recommendations from professional engineers, and follow through on warranty really sold us on Great Land.

I especially appreciated that on install day the owner actually came to our house to ensure we had all the pieces that the installer would need. To me they go the extra mile in terms of customer service. Thank you, it has been a pleasure to do business with you!
