Spahn & Rose Lumber Co. was organized in 1904 as a retail lumber company with the goal of providing knowledgeable staff, excellent service and superior-quality products to Midwest contractors and builders. When Spahn & Rose sold its first lumber, Theodore Roosevelt was president, Henry Ford set a new automobile land speed record of 91.37 miles per hour and Cy Young of the Boston Americans pitched baseball's first perfect game.
Spahn & Rose Lumber Co. is headquartered in Dubuque, IA and has been in business since 1904. We operate 23 full service lumberyards in Iowa, Illinois & Wisconsin. We also operate a lumber distribution facility in Independence, IA. Lumber arrives by rail and by truck and then shipped to the individual yards.

Best hardware store around. Extremely friendly and helpful. They represent everything that is good about the midwest. When I bought lumber from them for a project, they went above and beyond to help me get everything I needed. they even cut the lumber to the size I needed (for an insanely low cost, too). Their paint prices are comparable to anything you'll find at a big box hardware store.
Some of their tools and other hardware might be a bit pricier, but it's a small town and you'll know you're getting what you're looking for. Next project you have, check these guys out.
