Founded by two master glassblowers, Lee Wassink and Nathan Sheafor, The Glass Forge first lit its furnaces on Memorial Day of 1998. Specializing in Venetian-style art glass, they produce a wide variety of functional and artistic glass objects. The Glass Forge Gallery and Studio uses traditional Italian art glass techniques to create the wide variety of art you see on our website. Most of our work is done in a team-oriented fashion, with a gaffer directing the art being created. These techniques have been practiced for at least two thousand years.

I originally took a glass blowing class during my sophomore year in college at Central College in Pella, Iowa. I didn't think anything of it. Of course, after that, the romance of glass occupied my mind. I studied for two more years with John Vruwink while finishing my college education and was able to get fully hooked.
Is it true that the Glass Forge helped the local Grants Pass High School Marching Band fundraise to help with traveling to the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade?. We LOVE our community and especially things that help our local youth and schools. For this particular project we hand crafted glass music notes that the band could sell to raise money.

My sister and I are from California we came up here to grants Pass to take care of our 79-year-old mother while she had surgery stop by the gallery and had the pleasure of meeting some of the master glass blowers. The glass work is phenomenal and we were able to sit and watch them at their craft. The detailing of each and every piece blown was impeccable you don't want to miss coming by this place while visiting grants Pass thank you so much Dennis and Nathan

The Glass forge is so much fun. From just buying small trinkets, to watching them make vases and all sorts of goodies, to paying the $35 to blow your own ornament! The people there are all fun, kind, and informative, and it is fun watching them work. If you have a few minutes while strolling historical Downtown Grants Pass, pop in and make an ornament!

This by far was one of the best days out. We cannot say thank you enough to the staff for making our family day so fun. From start to finish they were amazing. We called ahead and made a reservation for our larger group. They explained everything, we all got to make a glass piece. They told us the history, explained how it all works. It was So much fun.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a activity that is off the beaten path, easy for all ages, pretty and easy. Our pieces were even done on time, and all was flawless. Thank you Glass Forge Gallery and studio!

Always on our short list of businesses to visit when we are in town (from Michigan). We had the opportunity to share this experience with our 3 kids this time, and they LOVED it. The artists are always welcoming, informative, and perhaps unintentionally always have made it inspirational for a first timer. Stop in if you are in town and explore, learn and make a purchase . Help keep this artistic trade thriving.
