Colorado Materials

Ok so I hate reviewing in general but I am honestly extremely upset at the soil we received from this company. We ordered the planters mix soil and it turned out to be super clay-rich and rocky. We even added some coconut coir and peat moss to try to make it less heavy, but it didn't help much. The soil crusts over so badly and the veggies I planted are being suffocated.

When I ordered, I mentioned that we needed it for the garden beds and they told me the planter soil was the best one, but it's not ideal at all. I really wanted it to work out and see if it'd be okay, but my baby plants aren't looking so great and will have to go buy some regular bagged soil. Nice people but the soil was terrible.

This business has not only the best material. It also has the best professionalism. They are fair on delivery and rates. I will always use them as a contractor and home owner. They really make sure I'm satisfied and very fair when I mess up and make mistakes which happens running many jobs. Thank you so much for your patience and professionalism. Hard to find a business with this high standard of integrity.

I went in to get information about landscaping a small yard. The young gal that "tried" to help me didn't know what xeriscaping was. The man that helped her was very rude and I left not wanting to purchase anything from them. The 2 stars is for the gal who tried to help and was pleasant but didn't have the training required to assist customers.

Due to the ice slicer shortage, we called around to see what local suppliers may have any. Colorado Materials had a small pile left and stated that we were able to purchase (13) tons. After confirming the (13) tons with them, we contacted a trucking company to go pick it up as Colorado Materials stated they were unable to deliver it. While the dump truck was in route to Longmont, Colorado Materials called and stated that they had now sold the (13) tons to someone else.

We incurred a several hundred dollar invoice from the trucking company and when we asked Colorado Materials if they would be covering any of the cost for what they had us incur here, the response was essentially "tough". Not the way I run my company and treat others and we will certainly not be calling Colorado Materials again.

I am very disappointed in my experience with Colorado Materials. We reserved a dump truck to pick up product there since Colorado Materials stated they could not deliver it to us. When the dump truck was en route, they called to inform us that it was "a rat race" and that the product was sold to someone else. When we stated we would be charged for the dump truck regardless, they said there was nothing they could do for us. After reading more of their reviews, I see we are not the only company to have this unfortunate experience with them.

I have always had great service here! Today was above and beyond. I stopped after loading to pay. After paying my truck wouldn't start. It was close to closing time, I saw a driver coming back asked if they happened to have a jump box or cables. He jumped right out and into his escalade and gave me a jump and had me back on my way. This is why I pass other places to spend my money here. Thank you huys!

I have made several purchases from Colorado Materials now in a variety materials with a variety of delivery methods (traditional dump truck, split dump truck, and a flat bed of boulders with a skid steer) and interacted with several office staff members and every employee has been pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. They are a great company to interact with and I will be making additional purchases in the future. Originally, they didn't respond to my sales inquries through the email address listed on their website (it seems like there was a temporary glitch).

But a review on Google encouraged them to reach out. Once in contact we were able to discuss in detail my goals and they were very helpful in talking through some options for my project. I look forward to working with them for my material needs.

We had a great experience! They treated us the same as anyone buying a huge amount of stone and were so helpful. When our trailer tire needed air after it got loaded and they offered air without hesitation and got us on our way. Tons of staff to help, we never waited or had to look around confused. If you're calling around for prices and stock I'd bet your search stops here, would recommend to anyone.

Walk in customer to order 9 cubic yards of planter mix dirt for upcoming project. When giving total, we had CASH IN HAND. We were abruptly told they do not take cash up front, and when driver delivered we would then pay the driver. We would either have to give CC # or the cash to the driver, however, if paying in cash to the driver, he may not have change available.

The supervisor made it sound as though it was an inconvenience on his part to make a cash sale, giving us a lot of attitude, even stating " we will take cash only this one time". After all said and done, did not get a receipt and not even a "thank you ". It is not my policy to give my CC # to a truck driver. I have worked in construction for years, and have never paid a truck driver for delivery of material.

It is either an invoice or we have prepaid. This by far was the worst customer service we have ever had, and making us feel as though we were inconveniencing them. Will not be ordering anything from here ever again. We will be going to Berthoud or Louisville for materials from now on.

Colorado Materials is an adult play land with a massive selection of flagstone, moss rock, boulders, wall rock, gravel, beach pebbles, mulch, soil and compost etc. The employees are super friendly and helpful every time i've been there. You can let all the generic big box stores burn but keep your hands off Colorado Materials, this place is amazing.
