This afternoon our garage door would not open! One car out, one car in! It's Friday afternoon and I thought, there is no way I can get this done today but I will get on the schedule for Monday morning. How wrong I was! The tecnicians came out an hour later and fixed it! I am grateful because recenty our neighborhood has fallen victim to to stolen vehicles and vandelism.

These guys were my last hope. I was wanting it to work. Came out to fix the door, didn't have screws to do the job, promised to return the next day. Stayed home from work, no show. called next day, told they would need to quote the repair, stand by. nothing. Won't respond to emails or calls now. I wish there was a reliable company to fix a door in a city like Austin but alas. there doesn't appear to be. Hull service was the same thing. It's not rocket science.
Just show up when you say your going to show. call back when you say you will, and don't make the customer hold your feet to the fire to provide basic levels of expected customer service. It's like we live in Beijing or something.

I have done business with this company for 30 years. They were quite wonderful till I don't know what's happened. They send a technician out to one of my rental properties who declared that the garage door opener needed replacing. Trusting them I ordered the new one paid for it but in the meantime a handyman went by and $40 later it was fixed.
They gave me my money back on the garage door opener that I didn't purchase however they were unwilling to refund the service charge for the technician going out and was trying to sell me a garage door opener I didn't need. Incompetence or dishonesty I don't know. I would just think that the company would take it out on the worker and not their customers.

I didn't actually get any service from them but when I needed them to do some immediate repair on my garage door, they were EXTREMELY quick to respond and were very communicative. My friend's husband ended up taking care of the repair but I know who I'll be calling for any kind of major garage door service next time! Just knowing how fast they responded and how willing they were to help me out when I needed it is enough for me to absolutely call them back when I will need a new garage door.

Oh my gosh, thank Heaven they messed up on my appointment. I had an appointment for someone to come between noon and 5pm. Never heard anything so I called them. I was told the service call would be $100 and then the technician, which I appreciated his honesty, said if I come now, since it's after hours it'll be $275! This was after 7pm. At that point I said I was going somewhere else.
I called Overhead Garage Door, was told my problem sounded minor and the service call would be $29! PLUS they're coming out tomorrow. So thank you Cowart Door for being so unprofessional.you saved me money!

After taking today and working from home on a day that I really shouldn't have, I was told they would come today and fix my garage door issue. I waited around expecting a call and got one at 320pm telling me that they could not make it today and wanted to reschedule. Due to my schedule next week I cannot take off time from work or work from home.
I asked about why someone else couldn't come later and I was told I would be charged an after hours rate. Why would you charge me an after hours rate when I've already been waiting around for you all day? Not very happy, and as a trusted partner on KOKE radio, I would have expected better than this.

I've had my wood Cowart garage door for 5 years now. It's probably the best single decision I've made in my $100K + of home improvements I've done on this home since 2011. I have it lightly sanded and a new clear coat put on it every several years, along with my front door. An outstanding piece of craftsmanship backed up by great customer service. Worth every penny.

Good business. No-nonsense folks who seem to be highly knowledgeable in their specialty (i.e. garage door systems). So, here's what happened: A couple weeks ago, my builder-grade (read: junk) garage door system fell apart on me. While closing, several wheels fell off the rails, part of the tension wire unwound, and it was a complicated mess. In my (idiotic) attempts to rectify the situation, I ended up damaging the garage door and bending part of the garage door opener.
Of course, this happened on a Sunday night, leaving me with no feasible method for securing my garage. Thankfully, Cowart Door Systems offers after-hours emergency garage door repair. (I didn't even realize after hours garage door repair was "a thing" until this all happened.) Rob came out, patiently explained the situation and the mechanics behind it, and was able to re-mount and lock my mess of a garage door.
After that positive experience, I decided to contact Cowart Door Systems to have a brand new system installed - new door, new garage door opener, new rails. I don't have any of patience for cheapo junk. The gentleman I spoke with explained a couple different options, in layman's terms, and I opted for a heavier steel, insulated garage door, along with a new Liftmaster garage door opener.
The garage door installer came out, hauled the old, twisted mess away, and installed a brand new system. It's nice, it's quieter, and it has the "feel" of a more quality system than my original setup. We'll see - but so far so good. Takeaway: everyone I worked with from Cowart Door Systems has been straightforward, to the point, and focused on doing a quality job.
At no time did I feel like anyone was trying to "upsell" me or confuse me with industry lingo. Both guys who came out to my house knew what they were doing - they're clearly well trained. Glad I chose these folks.

This is review is more based from a vendor relationship with Cowart Doors. I have had a great experience working with them. All of the staff is friendly and open to answering questions. Always prompt on answering calls and e-mails. I would highly recommend doing business with them to anyone I come across.

I purchased two large overhead doors with openers from Cowart a little over 3 years ago. Both doors had issues with the primer (applied by the actual door manufacturer and not Cowart) bubbling shortly after installation. Not sure if Cowart knew the door manufacturer had issues. I'll give Cowart a pass on this one. However, one of the openers started having issues with the operating limits from almost the beginning. Cowart gave me the name of a local (Houston) repairman. (It should point out that these doors were probably only opened maybe once or twice a week.
Neither were seeing a lot of usage.) Over the course of three years I had the same repairman out multiple times. He tried to fix the problem but was never able to solve it for more than a short period. I had another repairman out and he indicated that the door operators were undersized. A second repairman, who was working on my garage door (as opposed to the two "barn" doors) also told me that the operators were undersized.
I contacted Cowart who did not believe me or what these two guys said, so they contacted the operator manufacturing representative and they gave Cowart the name of another repair company in Houston. Cowart passed this information on to me. I contacted them and they too said the door operators were not adequately sized for the doors. In the last case and one of the previous cases both repairman indicated they talked to the manufacturer and were told by the manufacturer that the operator was undersized.
I passed this information on to Cowart. The next thing I know I get an e-mail from Cowart. In the e-mail they quote Liftmaster saying the operator should have no trouble with the doors (not sure who to believe the two repairman who said they talked to Liftmaster and per them Liftmaster said the operators were undersized for the application or Cowart who says they said they were adequate for the job.).
He also quoted the original repairman. I cannot speak to what the original repairman toold Cowart, but the facts stated were not anything remotely as I remember. One thing that was said was the problem stemmed from the lags screws having "wallowed out" the studs. Cowart installed the doors and no one, with the possible exception of the repairman Cowart quoted, had any reason to touch the lag screws which begs the question as to who actually caused the screws to "wallow out" the studs.
The last quotes in the e-mail were "from" the repair company Cowart had me call at the suggestion of Liftmaster. In the quote he stated that he talked to the guy and that he did not remember me nor could not recall them ever doing any work for me. This surprised me since it had only been about a month or so since I had both telephone and e-mail communications with them.
So I contacted them. He knew who I was as soon as I identified myself and he indicated he had never had ANY communications with Cowart staff. Needless to say I am underwelmed by Cowart's support and the quality (or lack thereof) of their work.

We had custom wood garage doors installed just before Christmas. All along the way--from measuring to final installation--we experienced nothing less than complete professionalism. We also had new garage door openers installed (quiet, belt drive types). The attention to detail during the construction of the doors and the staining of the final doors was impressive.
My wife can be a very tough one to please with such projects and she was overjoyed at the final result. No additional adjustments (so far) have been required. I highly recommend Cowart--especially if you are in the market for custom doors.

My husband and I live out in Cedar Park. We just got a "new" home, it's 2 years old previously owned. The garage door that came with the house didn't fit the feel of our home so we did some research and called around to get a feel of pricing. Cowart was a little pricier than the other places we called, but we were willing to pay more for quality of service.
They came over for an estimate. We wanted our garage door to be customized - wooden garage doors with three windows on top. A technician came out to give us an estimate and we agreed to get the project started ASAP. We're happy with our new garage door and the service that was provided. A great group of people, and they delivered quality work.

Were called twice for service. Both visits yielded the same attitude, quality and cost. Technicians continually told us that we needed a new door and full system, rather than repairing our old system. When directly instructed that we just wanted it fixed, they were condescending. $300 for a repair visit w/o parts is extremely high. Repairs required revisits and lack of attention to detail along with the attitude led us to another vendor that does great work.

My experience from start to finish has been a good one with Cowart. They delivered the doors I wanted ahead of time. The main reason for my 5 star review is that we have had two "warranty calls" where they were responsive and fixed the issues within days of calling. Keep in mind if you are buying door(s) for an older home, the initial install might not be the "last" install. My doors have defiantly needed some adjustments to fit exactly right.

The home we purchased in August, 2009 was outfitted with unique garage doors - probably commercial. They had no safety equipment (cameras or pressure sensors) and were very unsteady. I called several "garage door" companies; many admitted that they did not have any expertise with these doors, and those that did wanted to charge a service call fee just to take a look.
When I called Cowart, I spoke with Kamla who knew exactly what we had. She sent a crew out to give us a free estimate, walked us through the issues, and provided a written estimate. They then explained what would happen and when. It may seem that Cowart is more expensive than other companies when you first compare prices. And, they may be a llittle higher, but my experience has been that they are more thorough up front.
That means no surprises, and you don't have to worry if they know what they're doing. Yeah, a door from Costco may be $600 less, but when it's all said and done you probably save a couple hundred bucks - and had to beg, borrow, and steal to get the third-party installer to come back half a dozen times to get the job done right. Kamla and Cowart team get it right the first time.

I'm a true believer that if someone works hard to remedy a mistake that they should be given a second shot. I received an apology letter and a refund check for the service call from the owner of Cowart Doors. So there you have it, they are back in my good graces. even though I found out I could have gotten the same doors from Costco for $600 less, but that's my bad. And my doors really do look fabulous!
