Founded in 1951, Nashville Plywood, Inc. is recognized as the oldest plywood distributor in Middle Tennessee. C. S. Marker and R.E. Rivers were partners in a business they started in the 1940's called Nashville Showcase Company. They made display cases for Union Ice Cream Co., back bars for drug stores, and display cases for customers like Cain Sloan department stores.
During the late 1940's and early 1950's plywood and other building materials became scarce in Nashville. Mr. Marker traveled to the west coast and bought train carloads of plywood he could ship to Nashville.

Definitely set up for wholesale/general contractor sales. If your a DIY/weekend warrior type, don't waste your time. My conversation was literally, "If you're a general wholesaler, who might I go to so I can purchase said product?" "Oh, we can sell to you. But we're not set up for you to see our products." Whelp, thanks for your time.

Stood at counter from 7:02 until 7:12 a.m. while an employee peaked over his computer terminal at me. Customer service is severely lacking. Finally, another employee came in and helped me. He didnt seem thrilled to help. Many of my fellow tradesmen in our field complain about the customer service in the office or front desk. However, they tend to give a positive nod to the warehouse/loaders. Maybe the guys in the warehouse section could give the front desk guys some suggestions on customer service and appreciation. I lose money standing around.

Almost never pick up the phone and don't respond to emails. Even after multiple attempts to contact. Person I spoke to was rather rude and didn't seem like they liked their job or was wasting time explaining things to a beginner woodworker. I will be taking my business elsewhere but to each their own

This was the 3rd time I have been to Nashville plywood, and the 3rd time I have been thoroughly disappointed by the staff. I have never done business with such a group of unfriendly unhappy people. It seems like everyone hates their job and they don't even acknowledge you when you walk in the door. Last time the guy in the warehouse refused to band my order because he is just too lazy to do it, I got the same guy this time so i didn't even ask.
Maybe they would treat me differently if I were buying 100's of sheets, but if you're going to have a retail sales counter you should give every customer respect and the time of day. Even my small 500 dollar order pays their salaries, the least they could do is be friendly.

I called early in the morning to check pricing and number of plys used in certain plywood. I spoke with Jeff over the phone and he was informed, helpful and friendly. I drove there about an hour an a half later to pick up the plywood I had asked about. I got to meet Jeff when I walked in the sales room to order 3 4x8 3/4 sheets of Baltic Birch. It was quick and easy.
The guy in the loading bay was quick and helped load the plywood (which was heavy) in the truck. Although it cost more than the plywood at the big box store, it was worth the additional price because the quality is so much better. I can't even explain how much better this plywood is. 13 ply, no voids at all, and every layer stay laminated. Definitely earned my business for as long as they are in business. Quality products, friendly staff.
