Thin cut natural stone has many of the qualities of manufactured stone (easier and quicker to install) with the benefit of being real. It is a fraction of the cost of regular natural stone. Thin cut natural stone is cut thin which allows it to attach to a wall easily without having to use anchors or additional support. We have a myriad of striking styles and colors to choose from.
Flagstone is a charming look for patios, interior flooring, and pool decks. It can also enhance hearths, mantels, and window sills. We live in Santa Fe, but our installing plumber suggested we buy our gas log set at Builders in Albuquerque. Despite the drive, we were 100% pleased with our experience. Aside from their extensive line of Harwood log sets, this is the place to go for high-end materials to build a fireplace or purchase stone facing for your mansion. Owner Zane and his two sons are pleasant, efficient, knowledgeable and run their business like a well-oiled machine.

Zane and his crew are extremely helpful and will bend over backwards to point you in the direction you want to go.even if that means going with another product line elsewhere. My wife and I have been designed a fireplace for a couple months and Builders Materials has the best selection around. When we couldn't find the exact color my wife wanted, we went up to Santa Fe to see if we could find other product lines.
We couldn't find anything up in Santa Fe so we asked them what other locations would they recommend. Two of the Santa Fe stores recommended Builders Materials in Albuquerque (not knowing that's where we started)! When we did find a stone sample we liked, Zane was open to bringing in the new product line (from Ohio) to Albuquerque for more a wider selection for the New Mexico customer support base. That says a lot about how Zane runs his business and how he supports New Mexico. He is now our go-to guy for all future business.

We always try to shop local and found ourselves looking for stone at Builders Materials in ABQ. First of all, the store has some beautiful displays! Secondly, the sales rep was very helpful and was able to answer the questions that we had. We arrived on a Saturday morning, and it wasn't crowded at all, so we were able to take our time to decide on exactly what we liked.
The only reason for the four star is that once we decided on a product and were ready to order, we found out that it was not in stock and had to be ordered, which was going to take 5-7 weeks. After deciding not to wait that long to start our project, we found the exact product in Mesa AZ and drove to pick it up. As for the price comparison, we saved about $100 on the product itself by going to Mesa, but not really after we paid for fuel.
If it would have been available within a few days or even a week, we would have waited and just bought from Builders Materials. I would recommend buying the Coronado Stone from this company, just be sure to plan farther in advance so that they will have it in stock when you are ready.

Builders Materials ordered our Vermont Castings Intrepid II and it arrived exactly as promised. When I was setting up the stove, I discovered a small problem with the casting that made it difficult to mount the legs. One of their staff drove the 200-mile round trip from Albuquerque to our home, corrected the problem and mounted the legs. Great service, responsive and knowledgable sales team, and always helpful if I call with a question. Their follow through with any of our after-sale needs have always been met. I highly recommend them!

Excellent Customer Service from repeat customers. We have bought various building supplies over the years and love this place. Today I went in to purchase Stone Glamor. I was promplty helped, my questions were answered, and the service as usual was excellent. Highly recommended. This place is different from a "big box" store - they really care.
