In 2001, as president and majority stockholder, Laura Culin obtained WBE/DBE certification from the City of Austin and HUB vendor certification from the state. This allowed the firm better positioning for major city, state and federal jobs through competitive bidding.

Well I'm not sure what to say other than, are they moving? just yesterday 1/29/2014 I dropped by and the place was empty I entered what I thought was the office and it looked abandon. The door was unlocked but there was nobody inside with sparse furnishings. The yard had some lumber but so does mine. I was very disappointed. I can't say I had bad service or good service because there was nobody inside I was tempted to knock on the door of the art gallery next door but chose not to because whatever I saw in the yard was just not worth the bother. just to be fair I didn't call ahead. If they are moving call ahead before you go

Placed an order with THE OWNER for thin wood lath cut at a certain size because she informed me they needed to do "mill work" to them and charged me an extra $25. Said they would call when the order was ready, they didn't. I called and went to pick the order up, get home and start noticing how grungy the wood was for it to have been milled only a couple days earlier.
Come to notice stickers that say "Georgia Pacific Lattice 8' long 1/4" thick by 1.75" wide". I called to ask about it and she said she left the stickers on so I didn't think she was hiding anything from me, this was before I even said she was hiding anything from me, so if that's not a sure sign of a guilty conscience, I don't know what is. STILL CHARGED ME THE EXTRA $25 FOR MILL WORK. Basically charged me $25 for maybe 1-2 drops of a chop saw. SAD SAD SAD. Never again will I return for any business with them.

I had been buying my lumber at certain big box hardware stores in town with blue and orange logos and was increasingly frustrated with the lack of quality of their lumber and inaccuracy in their dimensions. So I found out about Austin Lumber Company though Yelp and gave them a call. Laura was courteous and returned my calls promptly, and on top of that was really flexible in when I could pick them up. The lumber quality was top notch. I will definitely go again
