Florida Cypress Wood Products Inc. was founded and incorporated in 1988 by William Kavanaugh of Jacksonville. We manufacturer and distribute everything from rough, green to finished, kiln-dried and dressed (S4S, T&G, etc.) Cypress lumber. The process begins with rough-sawn, (wet or "green") lumber.
Florida Cypress Wood Products, Inc is proud to offer 100% PURE, UNTREATED, CYPRESS in WOODCHIPS, SHAVINGS, & SAWDUST, for PICK-UP or DELIVERY! Cypress is naturally decay-resistant & insect-resistant, unlike PINE which will ATTRACT insects, does not alter soil pH levels, unlike PINE which will increase soil acidity, and lasts longer than concrete.
Florida Cypress Wood Products now offers 100% CYPRESS SHAVINGS, PRE-BAGGED, in 1/2 cubic yard capacities for pick-up or delivery. These cypress shavings are produced on-site, and are ideal for pets, animal bedding, stalls, horses (unlike Walnut, which can be lethal), chickens, herpetariums, vivariums, lizards, snakes, frogs, turtles, salamanders, arachnids, hamsters, gerbils, rodents, all avian species and cages, as well as mushrooms, plant-growing medium and gardens. Ideal for homes and gardens in need of moisture control and perfect for landscaping uses, as cypress will neutralize soil acidity.
BORA-CARE is an EPA Registered, low toxicity pesticide designed by the Nisus Corporation in Rockford, TN, to penetrate and protect all types of wood, including plywood and composites, from infestations of wood boring insects such as termites, beetles, carpenter ants and decay fungi. BORA CARE is an odorless, colorless treatment, which can be applied to your wood.

It seems more rare these days to be touched by the kindness of a retail place but the people at Florida Cypress showed me such kindness. I have a dinky little project of 100 linear feet and they treated it as if I was planning wood for a 7000 sq foot mansion. They took my project seriously and it brought a pittance of what they could have made dealing with other customer with big orders. Dressed my wood with the care as it it was going in the Taj Mahal. Highly recommend.

This place is simply AWESOME. I haven't experienced such great customer service like this in years. My husband and I were there to find some scap wood to build a coffee table. The selection is great. Prices are excellent. But the customer service is just unbelievable. They were all so helpful. I will be back! I highly recommend!

Some of the worst customer service in the world. We encountered a rude employee initially, and after wrong size cuts were made the owner himself refused to admit a mistake was made. Will not be recommending this company to my design clients in the future.

Timely delivery and quality wood. Highly recommend them. Owner took time to help me find some local installers and that was invaluable. Would use again and recommend to others. I did a T&G on walls and it came out great.

My husband and I are hobby furniture builders. We love going to Fla. Cypress on Saturday mornings (when the yard is open to the public) and getting a bargain on beautiful pieces of reclaimed cypress. It's a fascinating place to find inspiration, and the staff is very helpful!

I was looking for a piece of scrap cypress to make dog bowl feeder, my neighbor to make adirondack chair. George couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. He was super busy but still took time to educate us and give us best price and options. We ended up pulling out of scrap pile(you have to do that yourself), but he made sure each piece would work for project.

I recently went there to purchase some material to make a few cabinets for my outdoor kitchen. The staff was great, and the shop was quick with my material. I went on a Saturday and also found some interesting pieces in their "scrap sale" area I can make some nifty stuff out of. Overall, great experience, will definitely go back when I need more.

I love this place. There's always an amazing piece of lumber here that makes for a beautiful project. The Service and prices can't be beat. With more than 30 years of experience in the business, I trust that they know exactly what they're talking about. If you need cypress lumber, this is definitely the place you should go to get it. On Saturdays they even have a scrap lumber sale for all of the off cuts, non dimensional, overrun, stumps, 100% cypress chips and shavings, and the odd bits. If you need it, they have it.

Went there looking for a slab. Most slabs that were in decent shape were still drying so they weren't available for purchase. We were brought to the way back where the "budget friendly" lumber was picked out 4 boards that were in pretty rough shape and we were told that they cost more than a slab. Pricing doesn't make sense and he wasn't willing to negotiate.
