Needed Bentonite and most places want to overcharge for it such as resellers on Amazon wanting $90 for 40 lbs. Got 50 lb bags here for $14 each. They were courteous and easy to buy from. After making my purchase it took minutes to get my car loaded and be on my way. I wondered if being an individual with a small purchase would affect my level of service (other businesses have ignored me), but everything was fantastic here. Thanks!

You have to go here with the knowledge of what you want. It's not really retail like Lowe's or HD or IKEA. It's a huge yard with various types of bricks and stones. I came here on a Saturday to pickup some 3/4 stone to fill a hole from a plumbing job. You drive in, stop on a scale, they weigh your vehicle then you go to the stone pile bin, sand or gravel.
Load up what you need, drive back to the scale, the people ring a buzzer. Pull into a parking space, tell the clerk what you loaded and they bill you out. Note that after Christmas, they won't be open Saturdays until March. The hours are something like 6-3 also. The main office only takes plastic. The stone was priced per ton but they adjust for smaller amounts.
There were people there bagging gravel for small projects and others loading with a high lift. I didn't look at any of the bricks so couldn't write about that experience.

Recently purchased a 62 year old home and decided to close off one exterior front door. There was one original brick left at the house and with that in hand I went to visit Illinois Brick in Bridgeview. Jessica Arreola-Campos was absolutely outstanding helping me find the perfect match; she first found one example that could have been okay, but, she was still not satisfied, she kept searching and found, what turned out to be, the perfect match.
The existing bricks are long and she wasn't sure if we could get the color in the right size. Before I left with my samples, she called a state out west and found they had the bricks in the perfect size and color. Honestly, she seemed as excited as I was! It was so rewarding to work with someone that gives 100% to the people she is helping.

Distrustful I bought FonD du lac from the Schaumburg location in Aug 2018. At this time I was told, by the customer service, they accept returns with 15% stocking fee. When I called back the sales guy said I never told you this, and you are my customer since we started talking. I.e. anything I was told by anyone in Illinois Brick Company is void since I talked with him.
Really unprofessional. I did not have time to deal with level. And I was lucky to find someone else who bought it Now for your own sake, make sure you do not trust this Illinois Brick Company location and deal with any of the other locations across Chicago. If you have to, make sure you phone record your conversations with them. And for your own benefit make sure you do not deal with Greg Huxtable, this was the sales guy who went against his own companies' word not to give back some of the commission he made

I needed some limestone slabs for a couple of fireplace hearths. This location had what I needed so I went in to look at the product. Some were in poor shape and some were fine. I went into the office to ask if I could tag a couple of slabs so that my contractor could pick them up. No response. I asked again. No response.third try, no - I needed to take what was at the top of the pile.
Given that I was pressed for time I bought 2 slabs and asked the contractor to pick them up. What I got was two dirty slabs with lots of chips. The chips were on the slabs when they were picked up, but, the contractor also mention that the guys loading the stone really didn't take many precautions to ensure that it didn't get worse. He mentioned that Schwake was much more careful with the packing.
I would skip these guys. They don't seem to care much about customer service or their products. Perhaps they get enough commercial business so they feel they can ignore homeowners.
