Oostburg Lumber Co. was started in 1979 to serve the building needs of local builders and the local community. Originally, the company had 2 employees, a truck, and a table saw. Office space and a vacant field were rented from Oostburg Concrete products to get the business going. As years went by the original property was purchased along with some adjoining properties.

Oostburg lumber was fantastic to work with during the whole project and even help us return unused composite boards. From our salesman, accounting and even the warehouse guy were all accommodating. They gave us the names of some contractors that built composite decks. Unfortunately, we pick a terrible one that left us hanging one time for 4 weeks, came back a couple times and then was never heard from again.
Wouldn't return voice mails or anything. I DO NOT blame Oostburg Lumber for that and they even tried to help us with this terrible contractor. His name was JOSH COLLINS and is from the area up there. DO NOT USE HIM. He left our deck project he started in May in a very dangerous condition all summer. We were good to his guy and his partner that was starting their own construction company, from buying lunch when they came to giving them financial draws on the job of work completed. They turned around and left us hang. Very disappointing!

After waiting a month for them to fix our patio door, they left it worse than it was. The door is loose and shakes back and forth and it won't Lock unless you pull the top part of the door toward the lock because it's so out of balance. Steer away from their repair department. They do not return messages. I'd half star them if possible.

We decided to redo our deck with composite boards and wanted to work with a local company. After shopping around, Oostburg had a competitive price and all the supplies needed to install it ourselves. We were told it would take several weeks to get the boards. After a month we checked and it was going to be another month. Not happy! We visited a week ago, found a replacement board of better quality. They were able to make us happy again and get us the new TimberTech boards by the end of the week. Installation went smoothly and the deck looks great.

On two different occasions I have delt with Oostburg Lumber and my contractor Kevin Stauss of Kevin Stauss Construction. Two years ago I added a laundry room and a walk-in shower. Recently I had Kevin replace all of my old interior doors along with replacing my old wooden fire door leading to the garage with a 6 panel steel door. We are extremely happy with Kevin''s workmanship, professionalism, cleanliness and prompt attention to the smallest details and I would highly recommend Kevin if you want the job done right the firs time. All work was done on budget and on time. I would highly recommend Kevin and his association with Oostburg Lumber.

This is a great local business. My wife and I bought some windows for our older home here, and the process was seemless. Not only did we get full support from their sales team, but they also hooked us up with a great local contractor: Keith Dulmes of Countryside Remodeling. Mr. Dulmes came to our house and provided a very fair estimate, not only for the window installation, but for replacing one of the sills as well.
The estimation process was completely transparent, as it was based on the original quote for the windows provided by Oostburg Lumber. We paid not a penny more for the windows than Oostburg Lumber originally quoted us. Mr. Dulmes was paid for his labor and materials based on the quote he gave us. His quality of work was excellent. Once we hired Mr. Dulmes, he took the lead in the project, and dealt directly with Oostburg Lumber, ordering the windows, communicating with us, and coordinating the install.
We recieved one bill from Mr. Dulmes for the project, and he paid Oostburg Lumber for the windows. We are extremely happy with Oostburg Lumber for all they did for us. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. I just needed some boards cut to patch up a hardwood floor that I'm restoring. It was a small, miscellaneous job but they treated it as a priority and delivered it to my house just a couple of hours later. I was thoroughly impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the cost and quality of the product.

When we were looking to build our house in the Oostburg area, Oostburg Lumber was recommended to us as a possible building source. We made an appointment, and were introduced to a building consultant named Ed Hurlbutt. Being first-time home builders, we were quite nervous with the enormous and stressful task at hand, but Ed put our minds at ease with his building knowledge and expertise.
We had many questions, and Ed was instrumental in providing us with all the choices available for our family of seven. One of the highlights of our home is an open concept stairwell in our foyer area designed/created by Oostburg Lumber. This stairwell is the first feature people see when they walk in our house, and many guests have been impressed with its' unique craftsmanship. Oostburg Lumber was involved in the building of our home from start to finish, and we always felt we could go to them with any questions or concerns during the building process. We are definitely satisfied with the result and would recommend Oostburg Lumber to any future first-time home builders.
