When it comes to log home living, our owners have a wealth of knowledge. Not only have they been involved in ownership and management of Honest Abe since the beginning, log home living is simply a part of their life. All three have lived or grown up in the original Honest Abe Log Home, and have started another generation of log home living.
Our dealers are trained about Honest Abe's log and timber frame homes, and they're experienced in navigating customers through the design, manufacturing and building process. Many of our dealers have been with us for decades, resulting in thousands of homes across the United States and beyond. We've been family owned and operated since our founding in 1979. In four decades we've learned which wood species are best, that kiln drying is vital and that our houses stand the test of time. We exclusively use Eastern White Pine for our wall logs, log sidings, support posts, blocking, porch posts, porch plates, porch rafters, railings and trim.

Our dream of building a log cabin has been a long time coming. We researched several companies over the years and are thankful we found Honest Abe. We were impressed by the company history, the knowledgeable staff and the positive reviews. We worked with the sales staff Greg and Melissa Watson and the design team to get exactly what we wanted. Our kit was delivered when we were promised.
A site visit was made prior to the delivery to ensure everything would go smoothly. We were kept informed every step of the way. Although not our everyday home, it is our staycation home on our property so we don't have to leave our farm. It is finally a dream come true for us. Thank you Honest Abe and staff.

We've looked into many log home companies, wound up purchasing our log home kit and dry in construction through Honest Abe Log Homes. The agent we dealt with was honest, attentive and helped to make our process easier. The construction crew, J. Posey was great. The product they sold allowed us to build our dream home, that because it is made of high quality materials will be here for generations in our family. I'd recommend them highly.

We used Honest Abe to build our dream log home. This was the first house we had ever built and we had a lot of questions. Fortunately, Ethan was able to answer all of our questions. He was a wealth of knowledge. He listened to what we wanted and was able to transform our ideas into a beautiful log home. Ethan walked us through the entire process from ideas to building materials to the actual building of the house.
The building materials arrived on time to the site and in an organized manner. The entire process went smoothly. I highly recommend Ethan and the crew at Honest Abe. Everyone at Honest Abe Log homes were very nice and made you feel like you belong there. It was fun and helpful to look at the displays and imagine our own home. I used excel word and a couple different house plans from their book to formulate my dream home which is now being built. Honest Abe Log Homes took my made up blue print and formulated an actual blueprint. Molly Moss helped us pick out stains for the interior and was very helpful. She has lots of great ideas and experience. We can't wait to move into our new dream home.

They have multiple builders that you can retain to erect your log home. 3. You can have them erect your logs and you finish or you can have it turn key. 4. Best of all they do quality work at a fair price.

After visiting several log home manufacturers and some local persons with log homes, I chose Honest Abe Log homes because of impressive seminars of log construction and the professional woodcrafters they have to do the work. Materials arrived in a timely, orderly fashion protected from the elements. I always found a real person when calling the factory at Moss, TN and they never failed to address my questions immediately.
A customized floor plan adapted to my property was quickly and adequately provided, financing was painless and as the construction progressed, in-house inspections were frequent and thorough. Instructions for my builder to install doors, windows and cabinets and application of chinking were extremely detailed and clear. Construction proceeded rapidly through all types of early spring weather. I would recommend Honest Abe Log Homes without reservation.

We worked with Inez and the team at Honest Abe to plan and build this beautiful cabin. Used one of their contractors to erect the package and another of their recommended contractors to dry in electrical and plumbing. Then we finished the interior ourselves. Took another year to then put in the landscaping and put finishing touches on the exterior. We love it and so do all who come to visit.

We have worked with Honest Abe Log Homes since 2001. We took a lot of time researching different log home companies and visiting their main offices. Honest Abe stood out to us for many reasons and we picked them to build our home. We built our first log home in 2002. The staff at Honest Abe walked us through the process and made sure that we were totally satisfied with the design.
We then went on a tour of several of their homes and asked for a specific builder for our home. They worked with us to meet our request and during the building process their constant concern was our satisfaction with our home. In 2009 we made an addition to the home and returned to Honest Abe for their planning, building and materials. The addition was built by the same builder and the outcome was amazing.
No one could even tell it was an addition. In 2014 we even hosted our daughters wedding where she used our home as her backdrop. It was beautiful! In 2015 we made the difficult decision to downsize for retirement and to sell our home. We loved our log home so we never thought about any other type of home but an Honest Abe Log home. The process was exactly the same.
Honest Abe continued to work with all of our requests and needs. Our previous builder had retired but they made sure that we received a builder that we could trust. Once again, complete satisfaction with the entire process. In 2018 we decided to add a garage apartment to our home. Honest Abe, yet again, listened to our requests, drew up the plans, sent us the same builder again, and built us a home that connected to our established home seamlessly.
