3.5 staff is knowledgeable, but commication between staff could improved on special orders. A simple glass tempered order took a month. Initially told up to 2 weeks. They did call to follow up when the order didn't arrive and followed up with the customer service. Just if you happen to really need it now; special orders are a bit varied. Overall customer service and staff were great. Just would of been happier with a more accurate time frame for special order.

Bathroom shower built under budget thanks to Dixie Glass. I now have a huge walk in shower with beautiful glass surroundings. Its better than I imagined. I wanted to use Dixie Glass because they had deep roots in the community and Gulf Coast. Everyone I talked to seemed to all say the same thing. Use Dixie Glass. I did just that and I am so glass I did. One happy customer right here!

The old adage "you get what you pay for" holds true to this case even though I paid almost $2700 for 7 windows+installation. 1. Windows were supposed to be delivered/installed in 2.5 weeks. Took over a month. Delays happen. But it was the first issue. 2. Manager said there would be a 2-man crew working all day on install and finish as long as weather permitted.
Weather permitted but they showed up just before lunch, got mad because after they took off some old trim saw they had more work than they expected and said they'd come back next day with my tools. 3. Next day they came back, worked for about 4-5 hours with a lunch break thrown in. They got 3 or 4 out of 7 windows installed (without exterior trim reinstalled because I saw their work on the one window they put it back on and told them I would do the trim myself). 4.
The next day their office called and said the crew had to go to finish another short job and they'd come over no later than lunch. I told them that was unacceptable as the crew told me they'd be back first thing in morning and finish up. They ended up showing up around 10:30-11:00. Around 4 pm, the rookie of the crew brought me the invoice and said they were done.
I said "done for the day, right? You're not leaving these the way you cut up the window casings." He acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. One window had a gap.5-1+ inches wide on the inside of window casings. Some windows had caulk, some had partial caulk, some no caulk. I asked "is this done? Is this your best work? If this was your house, would you be okay with this?" No.
So I called and scheduled the owner to come out the next day. 5. Next day, owner came out and said it was unacceptable and told me how they'd repair the damage they'd done. 6. Next day, they came out and corrected the massive cuts in the casing. HOWEVER! Now there were 2 screens that had magically grown holes in them that were not there when they were installed. 7.
I sent pics to the owner who said he would get the screens replaced. That was 2-3 weeks ago and only thing I have heard from him was an email with "secure" login files that were viruses. I only found that out by calling the company (who knew about it but didn't tell any of their customers) 8. We just found one of the old trim boards they had taken off which had a nail stuck through a hose for our pool vacuum.
I expect more for $2700. So should you. You shouldn't have to call the manager & then the owner to get work done right. Especially if when all is said and done, you've still got 2 brand new screens with hole/rip in them. If it costs you extra, pay the extra and get your windows somewhere else. Not worth the headache.
