Very positive experience working with both Mary and Karen in the Kitchen Design Dept. I was referred to RICE by Burlington Marble and Granite. We designed and ordered a fully customized kitchen cabinet design from RICE and they even helped refer me to a builder to lead the demo and install which has been a great experience. Highly recommended. If I did another kitchen I would absolutely be working with RICE Once the project is completed I'll post the final photos on this review.

Their new store is hands down the best indoor lumber yard in the area. They always have stock, their yard workers are always easily accessible and willing to help, their gate staff works efficiently and with a smile. As a professional carpenter, I'm quite the regular to the local yards! Rice stands out in every way.

The new Rice Lumber location is fantastic and has not only an incredible selection of lumber, but the in store space has way more variety of tools, and supplies than I expected. It is functionally a high quality hardware store for construction projects, not just a lumber yard and their service and assistance has been excellent for all my diy projects and materials needs.

Rice Lumber seems like a good lumber yard. They offer free delivery and have been very helpful on the phone. But in the store, employees are frequently not wearing masks. Both times I have gone there was an employee at the checkout counter without a mask on (there were also, incidentally, one or two with masks on). They have some plastic walls partially dividing the customers from the sales associates, but these don't offer anything close to an air barrier, and I noticed that everyone tends to talk at the gaps in the hard plastic anyway, where they can hand one another things easily.
The irony is that Rice Lumber has signs posted everywhere saying customers must wear masks. It would be great if they would offer customers the same respect and decency they are demanding from them. When covid fades away, of course, all of this will be irrelevant. But, for now, I'll either go elsewhere or place my orders on the phone. In the meantime, they should just wear masks. It's pretty simple.

Being that I've been employed in building materials sales and as a contractor or carpenter for over thirty years, I have high expectations of materials suppliers. I was pretty impressed that these guys were the ONLY place within 50 miles of me that has Douglas Fir ACX plywood in stock. While the guy at the counter inside was annoyingly arrogant, the pro sales guy and the two men in the yard were very helpful.
Very clean warehouses and well organized. I will call them again next time I need quality and not just commodity products. (Not close enough drive to do everyday stuff for me.)
