In 1980, Ron Sisson purchased the assets of Spartan Millwork company in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Spartan manufactured louver doors and windows in small quantity. The newly formed company, Karona, was named after Ron's 2 daughters, Karin and Rona. Terrible experience. I work for a general contractor and doing a historic remodel in Indianapolis. Took longer to make the custom doors than they originally said. Receive incorrect astragal twice. Astragal took 4 weeks to get the second time (for an astragal?). Had to rework astragal ourselves after receiving incorrect astragal the second time. The same pair of doors where astrgagal was to be applied were incorrect size. Karona had to remake the doors and told us it would be a "quick" turnaround.
It has been almost (5) weeks. Today is 5/3/18 and still no doors. I was told a 5/1 ship date. Calls and emails have been made to the Karona salesperson with no response Would not recommend using Karona for any door application. The experience has been awful and now have an upset client to deal with. Service is very unprofessional. Seems that they only care about selling you the doors up front and then throw you to the wolves.
