Team Elmer's is grounded in serving each customer with the basics of integrity, respect, and a job well done. Interacting with the workers outside my house, each employee was polite, nice, and informative. Our family cottage was carefully removed, due to the record high lake level, by the exceptionally detailed and skilled employees of Team Elmer's.
The crew meticulously restored the land where the cottage had stood. We were fascinated by watching their skills. Thank you for handling the repair needed at our emergency shelter!

In 1956, Elmer Schaub-the Elmer part of Team Elmer's-and his wife, Edna, opened for business digging conservation ponds with a dragline crane. Elmer Schaub ran the business until 1977 when he decided to retire and offered Russell "Butch" Broad the chance to buy the business. Since 1977, the company has continued to expand across northern Michigan while maintaining its dedication to a high-quality product and customer satisfaction. We continue to build better communities through our commitment to service.
Team Elmer's, a family-owned business since 1956, is comprised of four divisions - asphalt, excavation, concrete, and crane and rigging. Our Traverse City, Michigan-based company proudly employs more than 500 skilled professionals and operates out of 15 Michigan locations. Our professionals have worked on a variety of small and large projects over the region - including the construction of some of the most prominent public and private schools, churches, state and federal roads and bridges, shopping centers, medical centers, hotels, and public institutions throughout the state of Michigan.
At Team Elmer's, our commitment to health and safety starts with pre-employment screening and safety training before putting an employee to work in the field. We also employ a full-time health and safety staff who conducts documented daily job site and monthly plant visits to ensure each of our sites meet or exceed Michigan OSHA standards.
If you have feedback, review us on our Facebook or Google Review pages, or send us a note. Team Elmer's had a forward-thinking approach that other contractors hadn't considered. Their innovative strategy of implementing a temporary dam and dewatering system was cost-effective and their local ties meant they were more suited to overcome the inevitable hiccups.

One word description - "FANTASTIC". A shout out to Garrett who's prep work was beyond expectations. This was a four property job putting down 2 inches of basecoat and 1 inch of finish coat on our driveways. Our #1 concern was water runoff onto neighboring property. The final product resulted in water running off accross a 20 foot width evenly to reduce the probability of soil erosion from a downpour to almost "0" on the north side of job. All the workers I talked to were polite and interested in their customers viewpoint.

I had my driveway asphalted by Team Elmer's on May 2nd. I had experienced a lot of bad communication with their "grating team" and "asphalt team" with this business. My driveway ended up being, in my opinion a horrible "grating job" that made my "asphalt work " being done in a way that wasn't either explained to me.why was the grade slope in my driveway finished to allow to create a large puddle of water at my driveway's turnaround area. I am definitely not satisfied with this asphalt job. Brian Roubal Suttons Bay, MI

Elmer's was repaving bugai rd and all the extra time they spent fixing the end of my pot hole filled uneven driveway was great. They brought several extra loads of road gravel to level it all out and came back the following day to add more gravel and picked up any stones left behind. I was going to sneak out and try to rake any loose gravel on the side of the road to try and fix this myself but was stoked when I saw they did it for me! To the man driving that john deer I thank you!

Disappointed with my Team Elmer's driveway, I contacted Tonya Wildfong (their Communications & Marketing Director), who offered to compensate me. I thanked her and effusively gushed about that during our conversation, saying something such as, "Wow, you really do stand behind your work, " but she deserves public recognition for demonstrating such exemplary ethics.
Everyone makes mistakes. Those with scruples endeavor to never repeat them, but in recent years an onerous trend has emerged: unprincipled businesspeople too often presume that perfunctory apologies expunge their responsibility for unsatisfactory products or services. An even more common maladaptive response is taking umbrage at negative feedback, oblivious to how mistakes can be learning opportunities serving as steppingstones on the path to progress, as reflected by the observation of a wise businessman who said that his best customers, and the ones he appreciated the most, were those who criticized his products because that gave him a chance to improve; his worst customers were the ones too apathetic to complain.

For the most part my experience was pretty good. The people were friendly and they were prompt in delivering some top soil. I would caution customers to check the billing as there appears to be some confusion at Elmers about the price of material. I had called around town to get prices on delivered top soil. Elmers quoted $25 per yard plus tax making it $259 for 10 yards.
I ordered 10 yards and when it was delivered the total came to $265. When I did the figuring I realized that whoever gave me the first quote figured the tax wrong. OK, I get that. I then realized I needed more top soil than I figured and I ordered another 10 yards. When it came the bill showed them charging me $28 per yard and not the $25 that I had been both quoted on the phone and what I was charged for the first load.
When I called to find out why I was told that I got a deal on the first load and that it was a mistake. I was trying to gently make it clear that I was both quoted and charged $25 per yard and I thought getting charged more for the second load was kind of crummy. I finally had to get a little tough and say that I wanted to be charged what I was both quoted and also previously charged.
With a little gentle arm twisting the person I talked to finally agreed to change what I was charged. Just a little bad taste in my mouth for what had been up to this point a good experience before they gave me the bill for the second load.

I would give 0 stars if I could. June 4th, they had a job on 5 mile, one of their tractor operators tried hitting and running my husband off the road with the tractor. We called the company, and the woman was extremely rude. She said, "I'll look into it" and immediately hung up the phone. No apology, no offer to follow up, no nothing; just an attitude. A complete joke of a business. Glad I've never wasted my money here.

I had Team Elmers come in to finish grade my new construction site. Jeff Saxton was the project manger. He gave me a not to exceed quote, came to check out the job site with me prior to getting a crew out there. They held their date and stayed until 8:30 that night to finish. Jeff did a walk through again with me to make sure nothing was missed and called me the next week to follow up and make sure everything was satisfactory. And they beat the not to exceed quote by $700! This was hands down my best experience out of the entire project!

The Elmers crew did a great job with our parking lot & septic line issues we were having. Steve Endres was great to work with, he kept very informed & is very good at what he does. Steve Folkersma was also great with our drain problems, he gave us some options & recommended what they should do. Also like to give a shout out to Greg Town & Bob Blonshine. Thanks Again Team Elmers Great Job!
