Has been in business since 1989 and is solely dedicated to the trade of wood roof restoration and roofing. Our business has grown to encompass the greater Chicago area, Southern Wisconsin, and parts of Indiana. As with any roofing material, cedar shakes suffer from the effects of Mother Nature and break down over time. The life of cedar, though very durable, depends largely on the environment in which it exists. Proper maintenance can deter these effects to prolong the life and maintain the beauty of your cedar roofing.

American Roof Preservers has been in business since 1989. We have since grown to become the largest roof maintenance and wood preservation company in the Chicagoland area. Through our commitment to providing quality customer service with exceptional workmanship we have developed long-standing relationships with many customers.
CedarRenew for cedar roof maintenance has been formulated specifically for preserving the beauty and prolonging the life of cedar. This blend of resins, waxes, waterproofing agents, U/V inhibitors and iron oxides has been formulated into a base designed to prevent the wood from weathering. It slows down the warping and splitting that occurs as unprotected wood swells and shrinks under the influence of rain and sun.
Cedar roofing adds warmth and elegance, an architectural look that states classic quality, taste and timelessness. Aside from their aesthetic value, products are lightweight, as well as wind and impact resistant. Cedar roofing has been a material used for centuries for two major reasons. First, cedar provides superior insulation.

I recently had both vaccinations at CCVP. There seemed to be a snafu with me being on the waiting list, however, the team quickly took care of this and had me an appointment within 48 hours. My appointment was scheduled for the next interval and it went like clock work. The care, attention, organization, and professionalism is front and center. Also speaking with those who were not actually involved in the vaccination occurred and allowed me to feel both welcome and cared for. Thank you for all you do. to the entire team at CCVP.

I had concerns about an employee wearing what looked like a mesh mask during my covid vaccine and posted a poor review. Cedar Care called me and the employee personally explained how he was indeed wearing a science backed filter in his mask. He was kind, professional and seemed to actually care about my experience. I will be pleased to utilize Cedar Care in the future.

Update -They Made it right. After receiving a call from the owner, I explained the situation regarding some warranty work that needed to be done. The company kept a call log and and had copies of my correspondence. The owner made sure that all issues were addressed. They removed new growth and even installed new shingles where the moss had rendered them ineffective. We have an understanding that new preservative treatment will be applied the next time the crew is in the area. THEY HONORED THE WARRANTY AND MADE IT RIGHT

I took my boys there this summer for sports physicals and was pleased with the good service and friendly, caring staff. I remember when it was the old hardware store--the updated look of the pharmacy is great! Also, it's nice having the local high school and university apparel there--part of their wonderful support of the community. Well done!

From the first time I called, I was very impressed with American Roof Preservers. Ashley scheduled me for an inspection, they arrived on time, their pricing was very competitive, and even with all of the weather issues affecting scheduling changes, the communication regarding completing my roof was excellent. They did an incredible job and my roof looks wonderful. I would highly recommend them!

I used them to remove moss, repair shingles, and put preservative on my cedar shake roof in 2016 for $5488. The work was shoddy and though there is a 5 year warranty on the preservative and preventative for moss growth, it returned within one year. I contacted them in 2017 (twice) and then again in 2018. All three times they promised to come out and resolve the issue but failed to. This business is all promise and no delivery. I would steer clear of them.

American Roof Preservers serviced my shaker roof in August, 2017, as the only company who had serviced it for at least 20 years. I noticed that they took much less time than they had used for the same maintenance every other time they had done the same job (costing over $2000). I could tell by looking at the roof that the job had not been completed correctly and called the company and asked them to complete the job.
They agreed to look at it and finish it properly. During 1 1/2 years, they have looked at it several times and agreed that it needed more service. When I arrived home from a winter vacation in 2017 and heard their message that they had serviced the roof, I told them that it had not been done. Over many more months, they told me one more time that it had been serviced.
They disagreed at my refusal that it had been done but sent someone else to look, who agreed that the roof needed a lot of service that had not been done. My son and I even went to their office to speak with them. But after 1 1/2 years, it's obvious that the company will not ever do the service that I paid for. I highly recommend using a company who will do the service you pay for--which was not done for me by American Roof Preservers.

They advertise free estimates on their site. I called and because my buyer ( I am a realtor) did not yet close on the house, they were charging $800. Whaaaat? Yet for the current owner ( who is moving and won't need their services), it is free? She explained they don't have time to give free estimates to people who may not use them. Well the current owner is not going to be using them because he's moving out. And $800?

I used American Roof Preservers in 2013 to treat my cedar shake roof. They performed the service on a windy day and as a result the preservative liquid left a coating on my windows and on my herbs, chairs, etc in my yard. They did come back and clean my windows and I cut down my herbs and let them grow back. However, some things were unable to be cleaned off.
They have a 5 year warranty and I called them about 5 weeks ago in regard to some missing and lifting shingles. On my first call, they said they would be out in the near future to take care of it. They never came and it took 3 more calls to get them out. When they did come, they were courteous and did the repairs promptly. I would use them again but I would not let them put the product on when it is windy.
