Hollingsworth Lumber is in its 4th generation of family ownership. We are a family oriented business that produces unique wood products. Our millwork facility is state of the art and equipped with planers, sanders and moulders along with quality minded personnel. We have capability to duplicate almost any custom trim profile and can produce any standard trim profile from any species of lumber. Other millwork capabilities include, but are not limited to, production of hardwood flooring, interior doors, and exterior wood siding.
We do custom millwork, can router edges, and will re-saw. We have stock trim pieces but can also create almost any profile. Other millwork capabilities include, but are not limited to, production of hardwood flooring, interior doors, and exterior wood siding. We also offer sanding, surfacing, and straight line ripping. We proudly saw our native lumbers in house, and are pleased to offer custom sawing as well.
What does S2S mean? Surface two sides, we also do S4S, which is all 4 sides. This is NOT sanding. We simply run the boards through the planer-typically just to achieve the desired thickness. What is the difference between linear feet and board feet? A lineal foot is the same as a regular foot (12) so 6 lineal feet, would just be 6 feet.

Great selection, but absolutely HATE calling them for any pricing or info. The one guy who mainly answers the phone always speaks so fast it's hard to understand him. Then he gets very rude if you ask to repeat, & even more annoyed if you ask more than 1 questions. Surely you all can find a nicer employee to take his place. The ~5 instances of talking to him makes me want to drive much further to Union City.

Paid a little under $4000 for custom beams. Supposed to be S4S which means surfaces four sides. Some beams were rotted snd showed bark on them. They gouged 3 out of 4 sides and I spent 25 HOURS with a belt sander getting them out. They told me to get screwed on refunding the cost of surfacing them. Avoid at all costs. Younger generation has taken over and they will screw you if given the chance.

Office fellow was annoyed when I asked about red oak prices and if they had quarter sawn. He told me to go to the warehouse and look. Offered no help. No staff in warehouse. Another customer in warehouse also frustrated about service. Customer said he had good experiences at Cole Lumber in Logansport. So, I went to Cole and purchased red oak there.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Everyone is very kind and their quality selection of rough sawn lumber would make any woodworker salivate. I felt like I was in Disneyland, judge me all you want but this place is the absolute best. If you appreciate fine woods and a nice environment then go nowhere else. Keep it up!

So called them up and talked to a very nice young lady. Drove over to the business and got exactly what I needed at a fair price. On a side note. The lady told me they charge a 5.00 fee to cut to size. When I said it doesn't matter she said some people complain about it. So my advice go somewhere else if you want to complain about 5. Dollars

Great selection of domestics and exotics in an apt variety of thicknesses and lengths. Well organized and labeled, topped with quality and persoanble service. Hollingsworth should be your go to if you are anywhere near driving distance. You hear me Indianapolis? Get in the truck and make the drive. It's worth it!

You cannot beat Hollingsworth for selection of quality species and exotic lumber. I remember buying some lumber here 20 years ago and the place did not look much different last week. I have a project that I wanted to use some quality Cherry for, and Hollingsworth had a great selection for me to choose from. Not only that, but I had the opportunity to review other options, such as Brazilian Cherry, Mahogany, different kinds of Oak, including quarter sawn Oak (although not in a 9 width).
They were patient and helpful with me as I literally pulled every piece of their 1x9 stock and carefully chose some 9 and 10 foot lengths (we put the rest back). Helped me load the car and everything, and the prices were about what I expected. From what I saw most of their stock is rough sawn, which is exactly what I wanted. I will be able to take some or all of the saw marks off of the boards, ending up with a thicker board, and finish them exactly as I want to.
The big box specialty pieces are planed so thin they are not as stiff are a little more difficult to finish. Getting here is really easy, go straight north up Spring Mill, Six Points, and 900E until you get to SR 26. Faster than US31 and fewer traffic lights.

Do not buy lumber from this place. I have had multiple trees stolen from my property and have found them at their lumber yard. They challenged my claim and I pointed out mine and my deceased wife's initials on one of them. I am still in shock from when I was told "those could be anyone's initials". From what I understand, they will buy trees from anyone and this is a new way for addicts to get cash. Also, buy your specialty woods online and have them shipped. That is all these thieves do and then tack on their profit.
