Charlie Gillman's dream began to take shape in 1962 with the founding of Gillman Brothers Lumber in Brookville, Indiana. Charlie had been born and raised in the contracting business. Working side-by-side with his father, Carl and uncle, Leo, he quickly learned he had a passion for the business and knew he wanted to create something special. With the combination of his knowledge of retail and building materials coupled with his passion for serving other contractors, Charlie turned his dreams into a reality by evolving Gillman Home Center into what is now one of the largest independently owned lumber yard/hardware stores in the Midwest.
