Dixie Salvage Dixie Salvage was established in 1996 when John Crow Sr. saw an opportunity to create a "discount building supply store" to serve a niche in the building supply market in NE Alabama. As the business began, inventory mainly consisted of "B" grade building materials. Today, after many years of business and developing contacts within the industry our inventory consist of "B" grade, overstocks, buy-backs, over-runs, insurance claims and closeouts. At Dixie Salvage, we strive to serve our customers well and provide great and sometime unique products at lower prices.
Services
Dixie Salvage offers everything you need to furnish your bath. Whether you're building a new house or would like to update your existing home, we'll have the products and designs you're looking for. The most important design feature and focal point of the bathroom is the vanity. We proudly offer all the latest styles from the simple clean look of shaker white to the most decorative furniture styles with hand applied finishes. We also carry unfinished oak and maple vanities you can finish any way you like.
We keep a constant inventory of 6 panel, half glass, full glass and full glass French. We also keep several styles of decorative entrance doors such as craftsman wood, fiberglass and metal with black/silver caning in both single doors as well as single doors with sidelights. Since we are a discount building material store, our inventory is constantly changing so stop by often to see what is new.
When searching for flooring, Dixie Salvage should be at the top of your list. Went to Lowes and found 1/2 inch plywood for 54$ yes 1 sheet. About croaked on the spot. I said to myself, self don't buy it. Cancel project. Then I remembered seeing Dixie salvage had wood outside. Went there and price was 37$. Wish I had visited them 2 years ago when I moved here. Looked around store and the people were so nice. This is my new project store.

Incredible variety of virtually anything you need for a home. Prices on most things are great, a few things are priced about what big box stores sell for, but they get new stuff in frequently which makes looking for project needs like a treasure hunt!

A great place to shop for bargains and building supplies. A few of my friends and family frequently shop here, and generally have good experiences. However, I have to say that this business has the single most toxic workplace environment that I've ever been a part of, and that IS relevant to my review as I've seen how it effects the way business is conducted; therefore the experience and treatment of the customer(s).

I'm reluctant to leave this review, but I wouldn't feel right if I did not. I will say that in my experience this was not the fault of the owner or the lead sales manager, and I'd recommend that you deal directly with either of those two people if you can.

I fell in love with this store. If there is anything you need, they have it. Plus the prices are affordable. This is my new go to place before Home Depot or Lowe's.

We bought a door and when we got it home we found out it had dents at the bottom of it. We called them back and they refused to let us return it because the brick moulding had been put on. They said that was considered to be installed. Come on, get real. That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Last time I'll go in there. That's a crooked way to do business. Now I have to go to Lowe's where I should have went the first time. At least they stand behind their products.

Went for the first time on Friday, April 6th. We were blown away by all the wonderful home and patio merchandise and great buys, but especially the amazing customer service. I love this place, and scored a wonderful new painting and designer pillow covers (only $5 each -- some had original mfg. price tags over $100!). Dixie Salvage is an hour from home, but it will be my new weekend must visit destination. Plus they have a huge warehouse of building and home improvement materials.
