Our Company began as Launstein Sawmills back in 1956 when Don Launstein, fresh out of High School leased a Portable sawmill that he hauled from woodlot to woodlot. Don saw mild success with his portable sawmill, when he was recruited by his father to form a partnership. Don and his father began manufacturing pallets while continuing to run the sawmill.

The Beauty, Charm and Warmth of hardwood flooring has been has been a favorite of both architects and homeowners for centuries. There is simply no other building material with the same warmth and durability of natural wood. Launstein has grown to become North America's leading manufacturer and distributor of 3/8", 5/8" and 3/4" Solid and Engineered Flooring.
Specially manufactured to enhance the beauty of the knots, while complimenting unique colors variations. Thank you so much for the bundle of flooring. Tomorrow I can officially finish my floors! The floors are holding up beautifully I might add even with a German Shepherd running around! It has been a pleasure doing bussiness with your company.

My husband and I ordered a wood floor register for our vent. Our vent is quite large so we needed a custom made register. The one in our upstairs bedroom is a vent of 4x12 and we ordered a 4x12 flush mount register and it fits perfectly. We called Launstein after reading the positive Google reviews but are so upset with our experience with them. We spoke with Dan and told him our vent dimensions and that we wanted a hardwood register that would cover the vent and be flush mounted.
We kept reiterating that the size of the actual vent is 12x20. We also sent him an e-mail of our vent and the dimensions of the vent itself. After weeks of waiting for the register to be made and sent to us, we were dismayed to find that the register they sent us is the exact size of the vent opening and thus, does not fit over our vent. It actually fits into the vent and a small gap on the side.
When we called Dan, he tells us that he made the register the exact size of the vent and that we had to specify we needed it larger but isn't that what a flush mount register is? We ordered our upstairs register to be the vent hole but since it's flush mount the frame is larger than the vent. Dan tells us that we would have to spend another $160 and order another register.
So ridiculous that he wants us to pay another $160 to get a flush mount register when that's what we ordered in the first place! We just lost $160 and still don't have a register and will have to find another company to work with. Stay away from this place! Awful customer service.
